Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has inspected the newly constructed Katsina State Hybrid Buses Maintenance Depot, a facility built to support the assembly, maintenance and servicing of the state’s fleet of 30 hybrid buses.
The inspection comes ahead of the deployment of the buses, whose procurement was approved by the Katsina State Executive Council during its 14th regular meeting last year.
During the visit, the governor was conducted around the facility by Malam Ibrahim Bello, who took him through the exterior and interior sections of the depot to assess the level of work completed and its readiness for operation.

The maintenance depot is a purpose-built technical facility designed to house, service and eventually assemble hybrid buses under the state’s sustainable transportation programme.
According to government officials, the facility will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of transportation services for students, commuters and other residents across the state.
The depot is also expected to enhance the long-term sustainability of the hybrid bus programme, which is aimed at reducing transportation costs, improving mobility and promoting cleaner, energy-efficient transport.
The project forms part of Governor Radda’s broader infrastructure development agenda focused on modernising public transportation and improving service delivery in Katsina State.

The governor was accompanied on the inspection by his Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, and other senior government officials.
