JOHESU Strike: Union Leaders Tour Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina as Industrial Action Enters Day 18

-

The national strike embarked upon by the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) has entered its 18th day, with union leaders expressing satisfaction over the level of compliance and solidarity among members.

On Tuesday, executives of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina chapter, led by Chairman Comrade Mujaheed Abdullahi, visited various departments and units within the hospital to assess participation in the ongoing industrial action.

According to the leadership, the tour was aimed at evaluating members’ support and ensuring that the strike directives were being followed fully. They commended workers for what they described as “total loyalty, patience, and unwavering commitment” to the union’s struggle.

“We are grateful for the immense cooperation shown by our members and stakeholders. Your patience and resilience will surely yield results. Victory is near, and together we shall win,” the union leaders said.

Also present during the visit was Comrade Abdulaziz Lawal Tsauri, a former Public Relations Officer of the union, alongside other executives and members who reaffirmed their resolve to continue the strike until their demands are met.

The union reiterated its stance with a chant of solidarity: “Forward ever, backward never. Solidarity forever—for in the struggle for our members, there is victory.”

The strike, which has grounded many health services across the country, continues as negotiations with the government remain inconclusive.
