The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, Ph.D., CON, has approved the immediate suspension of the Education Secretary of Dandume Local Government, Umar Amir, over allegations of abuse of office.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, Esq., the suspension followed allegations that the Education Secretary illegally sold a piece of land belonging to Abubakar Primary School, Unguwar Zango, to one Alhaji Kabiru of Tudun Ali, Dandume.
Governor Radda has also directed the Chairman of the Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to investigate the matter thoroughly, take appropriate disciplinary action, and submit a report within seven days.
The statement, issued by the Director of Press in the Office of the Secretary to the Government, Ibrahim Almu Gafai, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the protection of public assets in the education sector.
Katsina State Government reiterated that it would not tolerate any act of misconduct or abuse of power by public officers, particularly in areas affecting children’s education and community development.
