Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has inspected the Radda Model Smart School in Charanchi Local Government Area while 213 newly recruited teachers undergo induction training ahead of the commencement of academic activities.
The teachers, deployed to Special Model Secondary Schools in Radda, Dumurkul, and Jikamshi, participated in a one-day induction programme organised by the state Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in collaboration with Hallmark Consultancy Services.
During the visit, the governor conducted an on-the-spot assessment of facilities at the school, inspecting classrooms, hostels, laboratories, sporting facilities, and other key infrastructure to ascertain readiness for commissioning.
He also interacted with the newly recruited teachers, who were selected on merit and are currently undergoing training to prepare them for effective classroom delivery.
Speaking at the induction, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Yusuf Sulaiman Jibia, described teaching as a noble profession and urged participants to demonstrate dedication, integrity, and professionalism in their duties.
The induction programme covered modern teaching methods, classroom management, student engagement, and professional ethics, aimed at improving learning outcomes in the state’s Special Model Secondary Schools.
Also speaking, Zainab Bugaje Jika, emphasised the importance of proper teacher orientation in maintaining educational standards and enhancing performance in schools, commending the state government’s commitment to education reform.
The inspection and training exercise form part of ongoing efforts by the Katsina State Government to strengthen human capacity and ensure quality education delivery across its model schools.
