KATSINA — Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has attributed the development projects and interventions recorded across the state to the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Radda stated this on Thursday when the National Economic Council (NEC) Implementation Monitoring Committee visited Katsina to assess the implementation of key NEC resolutions and flagship projects and their impact on residents.

The delegation, led by Mr. Daniel Ikara of the NEC Secretariat, was received by the Governor after being led to him by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Malik Anas.
Ikara explained that the four-day monitoring exercise was aimed at assessing projects implemented in line with NEC resolutions, as well as strengthening collaboration between the Federal and state governments.
Welcoming the team, Radda said the administration had recorded significant progress across several sectors, noting that the delegation would have the opportunity to inspect some of the projects during its field visits.
“Four days in Katsina will not be enough to see all the works we have done,” the Governor said.
He listed the completion of more than nine major road projects in Katsina metropolis, alongside urban renewal initiatives in Daura and Funtua.
According to him, more than 250 of the state’s 361 primary healthcare facilities have been renovated, while several General Hospitals have been established or upgraded.
Radda also said his administration had employed more than 11,000 workers, including teachers and healthcare personnel, to strengthen human capital and improve public service delivery.
On agriculture, the Governor highlighted the establishment of an Agricultural Mechanisation Centre equipped with more than 400 tractors to promote mechanised farming and support farmers.
He also cited fertiliser interventions and the Community Development Programme as measures aimed at expanding economic opportunities and accelerating development at the grassroots.
The Governor further highlighted the state’s investments in renewable energy, including the revitalisation of the Lambar Rimi Wind Farm and the addition of a 10MW solar plant to the existing 10MW wind facility.

He said more than 30MW of renewable energy had been deployed across public hospitals, schools and water facilities, while 1MW solar plants and mini-grids had been installed at the Government House, State Secretariat Complex and General Muhammadu Buhari House.
Radda said the renewable energy projects were intended to reduce reliance on diesel-powered generators, lower operational costs and provide more reliable electricity to critical public facilities.
He added that solar lighting systems had also been installed at various Ministries, Departments and Agencies, General Hospitals and other public facilities, while Katsina General Hospital had received a dedicated 300KW solar power system.
Other projects mentioned by the Governor included pipeline water schemes, the Katsina Dialysis Centre and investments in education.
He also listed the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), KATDICT and public service reforms among initiatives designed to support businesses, promote digital transformation and improve service delivery.
On security, Radda said the Katsina Community Watch Corps had been strengthened with operational equipment, including nine armoured personnel carriers and several Hilux patrol vehicles.
He said the monitoring exercise would enhance cooperation between the Federal and state governments and help identify areas requiring further intervention.
Earlier, Ikara commended the state government for the projects inspected by the committee, particularly its agricultural mechanisation initiatives and other development interventions.
“We have seen some of the projects on the ground, and we are impressed with what we have seen, particularly the agricultural mechanisation initiatives and other development interventions,” he said.

The NEC-IMC team is in Katsina as part of the Council’s fifth-phase monitoring exercise covering states and the Federal Capital Territory.
