Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has been commended for embarking on the resurfacing of major roads within the Samaru campus of Ahmadu Bello University.
The commendation came from Dr. Nasir Danladi Bako, OON, Kogunan Sokoto, who described the road rehabilitation project as a noble intervention that would significantly improve the university’s infrastructure.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Bako said he recently became aware of the ongoing resurfacing of the major roads on the university campus and expressed “unquantified joy and gratitude” to the governor for undertaking the project.
According to him, the roads being rehabilitated were last constructed in the 1980s and 1990s and had long been due for renewal.
Bako noted that ABU Zaria has produced many distinguished Nigerians, including three governors of Bauchi State, as well as former governors of Cross River, Kogi, Gombe, Benue and Plateau states, in addition to two former Vice Presidents of Nigeria.
While acknowledging that many of the university’s prominent alumni had supported the institution in various aspects of infrastructure and manpower development over the years, he singled out Governor Sani for special praise over the ongoing road project.
He said the rehabilitation of the roads would not only improve vehicular movement across the campus but would also create a positive first impression for visitors to the university.
“Well done, Governor Sani,” Bako said in the statement dated July 5, 2026.
