KATSINA — Stakeholders from the Daura–Sandamu–Mai’adua Federal Constituency have presented Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari as their preferred candidate for the House of Representatives seat, following what they described as extensive consultations across the constituency.
The endorsement was made during a meeting with Governor Dikko Umaru Radda at the Muhammadu Buhari House, where the governor called for discipline, patience, and adherence to due process in political participation.

Radda urged aspirants to prioritise grassroots engagement, stressing the need to consult widely with communities, political leaders, and party structures before seeking electoral mandates.
“Political ambition requires patience, structure, and proper consultation. Engage the grassroots, visit wards and local governments, and follow due process,” he said.
The governor emphasised that political activities must be guided by unity, mutual respect, and democratic principles, noting that leadership goes beyond contesting elections to building strong connections with constituents.
He also clarified that Yusuf Buhari’s aspiration did not originate from him but emerged from community-driven consultations, reaffirming his commitment to fairness and inclusivity within the political process.
Radda further highlighted the political significance of the Daura axis, describing it as a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with deep ties to the legacy of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, District Head of Dumurkul, Musa Haro, said stakeholders unanimously agreed to support Yusuf Buhari after broad consultations, describing the decision as reflective of the people’s will.
Also speaking, Minister of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Hannatu Musa Musawa, said the move demonstrated unity and political maturity, adding that the aspirant represents continuity and future leadership.
