Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has pledged to establish a General Hospital in Danja Local Government Area in 2027, with the project already captured in the state’s 2027 budget.
Governor Radda made the commitment on Wednesday when stakeholders from Danja visited the Government House, Katsina, to express appreciation for the turbaning of the District Head of Dabai, Alhaji Gambo Abdullahi, as Dausayin Katsina by the Emir of Katsina.

The Governor said the proposed hospital was part of his administration’s efforts to expand healthcare infrastructure and bring quality medical services closer to residents, particularly those in rural communities.
“We will establish a General Hospital in Danja next year. It is in our 2027 budget. This is part of our commitment to bringing quality healthcare services closer to our people and improving healthcare delivery across the state,” Radda said.
He said the project would complement ongoing investments in the state’s health sector and improve access to medical services for residents of Danja and surrounding communities.
Governor Radda also assured the delegation that the government would consider the concerns and demands presented by the people of Danja and take appropriate measures to address them.
The Governor described traditional institutions as important pillars of peace, security and social cohesion, stressing their role in promoting unity, resolving communal disputes and fostering peaceful coexistence.

He said his administration had strengthened traditional institutions by enhancing the ranks and salaries of Dagattai and District Heads, while providing allowances to Village Heads to enable them to discharge their responsibilities more effectively.
“We recognise the important role traditional institutions play in maintaining peace, security and unity in our communities. They are critical partners in governance, and we will continue to support them in carrying out their responsibilities,” he said.
Earlier, Chairman of Danja Local Government Area, Hon. Rabo Tambaya, thanked Governor Radda for development interventions in Danja and other parts of the state.
Tambaya commended the administration’s investments in infrastructure and social services, as well as its programmes aimed at improving the wellbeing and socio-economic conditions of residents.
He also praised the Governor for recognising the contributions of traditional institutions to peace, security and community development.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Economy, Engr. Yakubu Nuhu Danja, presented the concerns and priority needs of the local government.
He appealed to the Governor to consider the demands presented by the delegation and take steps to address the challenges confronting the area.
The visit was attended by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; members of the Katsina State Executive Council and other senior government officials
