-

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has commended the ₦30 million donation and distribution of 500 motorcycles as part of a community-driven empowerment programme for residents of Musawa and Matazu Local Government Areas.

Dikko Radda described the initiative as a major boost to grassroots empowerment and assured residents of continued government investment in security, agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure and youth development.

The Governor spoke on Sunday in Musawa at a community relief and empowerment programme organised by stakeholders and Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmad, Dujiman Katsina.

The event also featured the launch of the Musawa Development Initiative (MDI), established by indigenes of the area to support communities affected by insecurity and promote sustainable development.

Radda commended Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmad for donating ₦30 million and supporting the distribution of 500 motorcycles, alongside agricultural inputs, financial assistance and relief materials to beneficiaries across Musawa and Matazu.

He also praised other individuals and organisations from the two local government areas for donating food items, agricultural inputs and relief materials to families affected by insecurity.

The Governor welcomed Abdullahi’s pledge to support the Community Watch Corps in Musawa and Matazu, saying stronger community-based security would help protect lives, property and livelihoods.

“Our administration will continue to prioritise areas that directly improve the wellbeing of our people. We urge beneficiaries to use this support productively,” Radda said.

He also called on residents to promote unity, peaceful coexistence and cooperation in order to accelerate development in the communities.

The Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hon. Hannatu Musa Musawa, urged residents to remain united and work collectively towards the development of the area.

In his remarks, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmad thanked Governor Radda for his commitment to grassroots development, saying the administration’s achievements demonstrated that its promises were being fulfilled.

“Your Excellency, you did not plant a fake crop,” he said, referring to the administration’s development efforts.
