Governor Radda Joins Mourners at Funeral of Late Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, on Sunday attended the funeral prayer of the late Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo, who passed away earlier in the day in Abuja at the age of 70.

The funeral prayer (Janaza) was held at the National Mosque, Abuja, shortly after the Asr prayer, drawing a large congregation of mourners from across the country, including senior members of the judiciary, political leaders, and associates of the deceased jurist.

Governor Radda joined the mourners in offering prayers for the repose of the soul of the late Justice Dodo, describing his death as a monumental loss to both Katsina State and the Nigerian judiciary.

Speaking after the prayer, the Governor paid glowing tribute to the late jurist, recalling his distinguished career and unrelenting commitment to justice.

“Justice Dodo was a beacon of fairness, integrity, and professionalism. His remarkable service to the nation and his commitment to justice will remain a guiding light for generations of legal practitioners,” Governor Radda said.

He prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the late Justice Dodo and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, while also praying for the bereaved family to be blessed with the strength to bear the loss.

The late Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo, a native of Katsina State, had a long and illustrious career in the judiciary. He served as Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and later as a Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court. He was widely respected for his integrity, discipline, and deep sense of justice.

Among the dignitaries who attended the funeral were former Governor of Katsina State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari; former Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika; former FCT Minister, Dr. Modibbo Aliyu Umar; former National Legal Adviser of the APC, Barrister Ahmed Usman El-Marzuq; Managing Director of NIRSAL Plc, Alhaji Abbas Masanawa; former NIOMCO Board Member, Alhaji Iro Danfuloti; and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, representing Katsina Central Senatorial District.

Justice Dodo was remembered as an upright, patriotic, and humble figure who dedicated his life to upholding justice and strengthening Nigeria’s legal system.
