The Katsina State Government has announced that the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, will preside over the turbaning of three newly appointed District Heads.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Emir’s Palace in Katsina.
Briefing journalists on the programme, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Surajo Yazeed Abukur, said the event will honour three prominent indigenes of the state with revered traditional titles.

He named the appointees as Alhaji Ahmad Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, who will be turbaned as Danmajen Katsina and District Head of Dankama; Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Radda, who will assume the title of II Gwagwaren Katsina and District Head of Radda; and Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu, who will be turbaned as Sarkin Mudurun Katsina and District Head of Muduru.
Abukur explained that the ceremony represents more than the conferment of traditional titles, describing it as a reaffirmation of the cultural heritage and continuity of leadership within the Katsina Emirate.
According to him, activities lined up to mark the occasion include a special polo tournament, royal horse processions, and a grand dinner reception.
He also disclosed that the state government will unveil a historical compendium titled Karaga, which chronicles the history of the Katsina Royal House and the evolution of the newly created district titles.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Central Working Committee, Dr. Faruk Aminu, said preparations have been concluded for a successful outing. He called on residents and cultural enthusiasts from across the country to attend the event.
“We invite all lovers of culture and tradition to be part of this landmark occasion, which reflects the pride and rich heritage of Katsina State,” he said.
