KATSINA — Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has led the Director-General of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign, Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, and a delegation of prominent political leaders to the Katsina and Daura Emirates to seek the support of traditional rulers and their subjects for the President’s re-election in 2027.
The delegation arrived in Katsina on Monday and was received at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport by Governor Radda, Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe, Director-General of the Tinubu/Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, members of the State Executive Council and other senior government officials.
During separate courtesy visits to the palaces of the Emirs of Katsina and Daura, Radda reaffirmed the state’s commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing confidence in continued support for Tinubu and his administration.

At the Daura palace, the Governor described the Emirate as an APC stronghold, tracing its longstanding relationship with the party to the emergence of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We have come to this historic Emirate to pay homage to our traditional ruler and seek support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Radda said.
He recalled receiving political support from the people of Daura during previous party primaries, adding that Katsina State recognised Tinubu’s contributions to national development and his support for the people.
The Governor also commended Tinubu for standing by the late Buhari through his death and burial, describing the gesture as an act of friendship and solidarity.
At the Katsina palace, Radda similarly declared the state’s commitment to the APC and the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasising the importance of cooperation between the Federal and state governments in delivering development programmes and improving citizens’ welfare.

At both palaces, the Governor praised the traditional rulers for their roles in promoting peace, unity, community development and peaceful coexistence. He said sustained engagement between political leaders and traditional institutions was important for political stability and effective governance.
Speaking during the visits, Yari said the delegation had come to pay homage to the Emirs, demonstrate respect for the traditional institution and seek their support, as well as that of the people of Katsina State, for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
He highlighted the importance of traditional rulers in guiding their communities, fostering unity and promoting peace, while stressing the need for continued consultations with traditional rulers and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yari also highlighted the Renewed Hope Agenda and acknowledged the contributions of the late Buhari to national development and the APC’s electoral successes.
The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, thanked the delegation for the visit and pledged support for Tinubu’s administration. He also commended Radda’s efforts to promote development and improve the welfare of Katsina residents.

The Emir emphasised that cooperation between political leaders and traditional institutions was essential to peace, unity and sustainable development.
The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Dr Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, also welcomed the Governor, Yari and other members of the delegation, appreciating their recognition of the traditional institution.
He called on political leaders to prioritise citizens’ welfare, promote peaceful coexistence and sustain development efforts, while urging continued cooperation between government and traditional institutions in addressing community challenges.
Other members of the delegation included former Katsina State governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shema; former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff; former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha; former Zamfara State Governor Ahmed Sani Yarima; and former Jigawa State Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar.
Following the two-day engagement, Yari departed Katsina for Abuja, accompanied to the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport by Governor Radda.

The visit formed part of consultations with traditional rulers and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
