Katsina State, Nigeria — Troops of the Nigerian Military operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have recorded a significant victory against armed bandits in Katsina State, neutralizing two suspected terrorists and recovering weapons and a motorcycle.
According to reports, the operation occurred during routine patrol duties when the troops intercepted a group of suspected bandits attempting to navigate through the Ruwan Lafiya crossing point in the Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Upon encountering the suspects at the crossing point, the military opened fire, forcing the armed group to flee in disarray.
During the encounter and subsequent retreat, the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and a abandoned Boxer motorcycle left behind by the fleeing suspects.
Following the operation, military forces have maintained a heavy presence and continued to dominate the general area to prevent the bandits from regrouping or launching further attacks on local communities.
This successful clearance operation is part of ongoing counter-terrorism initiatives across Katsina and neighbouring regions designed to restrict the movement of armed gangs, disrupt their operational networks, and restore security to affected areas.
