The Katsina State Government has constituted a special committee to address complaints arising from the recent screening of Local Government and Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) staff.

The Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs announced the decision following the implementation of the Government White Paper on the report of the screening committee.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the newly formed Standing Committee will be chaired by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government Affairs. The committee is mandated to receive and resolve complaints from affected staff and to handle other issues stemming from the screening exercise.

The government directed all concerned staff with grievances to submit written complaints to the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government Inspectorate.

It added that complaints from Local Government staff must be endorsed by the respective Heads of Local Government Administration, while those from LGEA staff must be endorsed by their Education Secretaries. All submissions are required to include relevant supporting documents.

The deadline for submission of complaints has been fixed for Friday, March 9, 2026.

Chairman of the Special Committee, Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to fairness, transparency and due process in the implementation of the screening exercise.
