Katsina Orders Compulsory Extra Lessons for SS III Students

The Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced compulsory extra lessons for all Senior Secondary School Three (SS III) students in public schools across the state.

The directive, contained in a public announcement dated January 25, 2026, stated that the lessons will commence on Monday, March 2, and end on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

According to the Ministry, the extra classes will hold from Mondays to Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in all public senior secondary schools across Katsina State.

The announcement further directed that all boarding SS III students are to attend the lessons in their respective neighbourhood day secondary schools.

The Ministry explained that the initiative is aimed at adequately preparing students for their forthcoming external examinations. During the period, past examination question papers in core subjects will be thoroughly reviewed to enhance students’ understanding, boost their confidence and improve overall performance.

Parents and guardians were strongly advised to ensure that their wards attend the lessons regularly and punctually.

The statement was signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Sani Danjuma Suleiman, who expressed appreciation for the continued support and cooperation of stakeholders in advancing the standard of education in the state.
