KATSINA — Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has flagged off the reconstruction of the 38-kilometre Bindawa–Dallaje–Doro–Giremawa–Duwan Junction Road, linking communities in Bindawa and Mani local government areas.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Bindawa on Sunday, Radda said the project was part of his administration’s Building Your Future Agenda, designed to improve access to markets, agricultural areas and essential services.

He said the road’s poor condition had hindered movement and socioeconomic activities in the benefiting communities, making its reconstruction necessary.
The governor directed Mothercat Construction Company, the contractor handling the project, to deliver quality work within the stipulated 10-month period. He also urged the benefiting communities to cooperate with the contractor to ensure timely completion.
Radda said his administration had also executed major road and bypass projects in Katsina, Daura, Funtua and Malumfashi, alongside rural road projects such as Shargalle–Dutsi–Ingawa, Kankia–Dangamau–Kusada and Tashar Bala–Sayau–Rafin Iwa–Sabuwa.
He added that 12 dams had been constructed to support irrigation.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, Engr. Sani Magaji Ingawa, assured that the ministry would ensure strict supervision and quality control throughout the project.
He urged the contractor, engineers and ministry personnel to maintain high standards to guarantee the road’s durability.
The Chairman of Bindawa Local Government Area, Hon. Badaru Musa, and the District Head of Mani, Alhaji Umar Babani Isah, commended the governor for extending development projects to grassroots communities and appealed for further interventions.
