Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has intensified his administration’s education reform drive by investing in the capacity development of officials implementing key education programmes, with a second delegation participating in a high-level leadership and governance training in Cairo, Egypt.
The training, organised under the Transforming Education System at State Level (TESS) Project, focused on participatory leadership and good governance, equipping participants with skills in stakeholder engagement, transparency, accountability, effective decision-making and education sector governance.
Governor Radda described the learning visit as a strategic investment aimed at building a competent workforce capable of driving sustainable education reforms across Katsina State.
“Our administration remains committed to building the capacity of officials implementing critical education programmes. Exposure to global best practices strengthens institutions, promotes accountability and enhances service delivery for the benefit of our people,” the governor said.
The Katsina delegation comprised Auwal Muhammad Idris, Abdulmalik Maiwada, Jafar Abdullahi Maikudi, Rukayya Umar Radda, Maijidda Mohammad Kaikai, Aisha Muktar and Aisha Faruq Jobe.

During the programme, participants took part in interactive sessions, practical exercises, study visits and knowledge-sharing activities designed to improve institutional effectiveness, strengthen project implementation and promote good governance in the education sector.
Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that expose government officials and project teams to international best practices and innovative approaches to public service delivery.
“We will continue to invest in capacity building and strengthen international partnerships to equip our officials with the knowledge, skills and experience required to deliver sustainable reforms and quality education for every child in Katsina State,” he said.
The governor added that strengthening the capacity of education stakeholders remains central to his administration’s vision of building a more effective, accountable and results-driven education system capable of meeting the aspirations of future generations.
The Cairo programme marks the second overseas capacity-building exercise undertaken by Katsina officials under the TESS Project as the state continues to pursue reforms aimed at improving the quality of education and governance in the sector.
