The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, in partnership with Shelter Advisory Services Limited, will host the second edition of the Renewed Hope Housing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Summit in Abuja next month as part of efforts to accelerate large-scale housing delivery in Nigeria.
The summit is scheduled for April 2026 at the Yar’Adua Centre under the theme “From Policy to Projects: Financing and Delivering Housing at Scale through PPPs.”
According to the Ministry, the summit will serve as a high-level policy and transaction platform aimed at advancing structured public-private partnerships for housing development across the country.
The event is expected to bring together federal and state policymakers, legislators, institutional investors, developers and development partners to review and align housing policy frameworks with practical and implementable projects.
Participants will also examine strategies for structuring, financing and implementing viable housing PPPs, with discussions focusing on project pipelines, financing instruments, risk allocation frameworks and successful delivery models that can be replicated across states.
The organisers said this year’s theme reflects the summit’s central objective of bridging the gap between policy formulation and the delivery of bankable housing projects.
Public-private partnerships are being promoted as a key mechanism for mobilising long-term financing, aligning public land and infrastructure with private sector expertise and delivering housing at the scale required to address Nigeria’s housing deficit.
Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to attend the summit as special guest, while the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, will serve as host.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, will deliver the ministerial address at the event.
Other speakers expected at the summit include the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; Chairman of the Senate Committee on Housing, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal; and Chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Habitat, Abdulmumin Jibrin.
The keynote address will be delivered by Elena Panaritis, founder of Thought4Action and an international expert on property rights reform, informal economies and PPP-driven housing development.
In addition to policy discussions, the summit will feature a training workshop titled “Leveraging PPPs and Joint Ventures for Housing Development,” targeted at heads of housing agencies, project management institutions and developers.
Other activities scheduled for the one-day event include closed-door executive sessions, strategic engagements with the housing minister and the ministry’s permanent secretary, as well as high-level discussions involving key players in the housing industry.
The Ministry said the summit is designed to move the housing conversation beyond policy debates to concrete implementation, with the aim of translating policy clarity into investable projects and measurable housing delivery across Nigerian cities and communities.
