Governor Radda Visits Katsina Pilgrims in Mina, Urges Prayers for Peace and Security

-

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on pilgrims from the state performing the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia to continue praying for peace, unity, and stability in Katsina State and Nigeria.

The Governor made the appeal during his Sallah visit to Katsina pilgrims at their camps in Mina, one of the major holy sites for the Hajj rituals.

Governor Radda urged the pilgrims to use the spiritual significance of the Hajj period to offer special prayers for lasting peace and an end to security challenges affecting parts of Katsina State and the country at large.

He also prayed for Almighty Allah to expose individuals involved in activities threatening the peace and security of the state, while seeking divine protection, guidance, and prosperity for Katsina and its people.

During the visit, the Governor commended the leadership of the Katsina State Hajj delegation under the Amirul Hajj, Barrister Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq, for what he described as commendable service and dedication to the welfare of pilgrims.

According to Governor Radda, reports reaching him indicated that the delegation and officials had been working tirelessly to ensure smooth coordination and successful conduct of the Hajj exercise for pilgrims from the state.

The Governor’s visit also recalled several welfare interventions earlier approved by the Katsina State Government for pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Among the interventions was the payment of Hadaya for all the 2,035 Katsina State pilgrims, a gesture aimed at easing the financial burden associated with the pilgrimage rites.

Governor Radda had also approved a Sallah gift of 300 Saudi Riyals for each pilgrim to support them during the Eid period in the Holy Land.

Pilgrims who spoke during the visit expressed appreciation to the Governor for the support and welfare packages provided by the state government, while praying for continued peace, progress, and stability in Katsina State.
