Katsina, January 16 – Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, on Saturday urged Muslims to embrace unity and strengthen interfaith harmony as a foundation for peace and development, while hosting the 40th International Maulud of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass in Katsina.
The Maulud, held at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, brought together Islamic scholars, traditional rulers and thousands of Tijjaniyya followers from within and outside Nigeria.

Governor Radda thanked Almighty Allah for answered prayers that have continued to sustain peace and stability in Katsina State and the country. He commended the organisers for using the Maulud to promote unity, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence, noting that religious leaders have a critical role in praying for and guiding society towards progress.
The governor called on Muslims to remain united and deepen cooperation among themselves in order to contribute meaningfully to societal development. He also appreciated Islamic leaders who attended the event and wished them a safe return to their destinations.
According to him, hosting the Maulud reflects his administration’s commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence under the Building Your Future agenda.

Speaking on behalf of the Khalifa, Sheikh Mahi Ibrahim Inyass, Sheikh Muhammadu Kuraish Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass urged Tijjaniyya adherents to uphold unity and brotherhood and to conduct their lives in line with the teachings of the Qur’an and the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The 16th Emir of Kano, Khalifa Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, also called for unity among the Muslim Ummah, urging followers to pursue both Islamic and Western education, as well as practical skills, to achieve self-reliance.
Similarly, Khalifa Ibrahim Dahiru Usman Bauchi, representing Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, advised followers to be guided strictly by the Qur’an, the Hadith and the teachings of Sheikh Tijjani and Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass.
Earlier, the National President of the movement, Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Awwal, said the 2026 Maulud marked the 40th anniversary of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass Maulud in Nigeria. He commended Governor Radda and the local organising committee for their support in ensuring the success of the event.
The State Chairman of the Movement and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Sheikh Hadi Balarabe, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their contributions.

The event attracted key stakeholders and large numbers of Tijjaniyya followers from across Nigeria and beyond.
