Governor Radda Pledges Partnership With NDE on Youth Skills Development in Katsina

-

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has pledged stronger collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to expand skills acquisition and employment opportunities for youths across the state.

Governor Radda made the commitment while receiving a delegation from the NDE led by its Acting Director-General, Mr. Edmund C. Onwuliri, during a courtesy visit at the Government House in Katsina.

The governor described skills development as critical to youth empowerment and sustainable economic growth, assuring the federal agency of his administration’s full support in implementing employment and vocational training programmes in the state.

He also directed that all requests from the NDE should receive adequate attention and priority to ensure smooth execution of the agency’s initiatives in Katsina.

Governor Radda commended the delegation for its dedication to youth development and reiterated the state government’s readiness to work closely with the agency in advancing job creation and technical skills training.

“Our administration considers skills acquisition essential for empowering young people and promoting sustainable economic development,” the governor said.

Earlier, the Acting Director-General of the NDE, Mr. Edmund C. Onwuliri, disclosed that the agency plans to expand its operations and activities in Katsina State through strategic partnerships and infrastructure development.

He revealed that the delegation had visited Daura to engage the Emir and other stakeholders on land acquisition and processing of a Certificate of Occupancy for an NDE facility in the area.

According to him, the team also toured several Skill Acquisition Centres in communities including Ingawa, Kurfi, Malumfashi and Funtua to assess existing facilities and explore opportunities for expansion.

Onwuliri said the agency was interested in building meaningful partnerships with the Katsina State Government to increase access to vocational training and create more employment opportunities for residents.

“These partnerships are designed to create more employment opportunities and expand access to skills training across the state,” he stated.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal, top government officials and members of the NDE delegation.
