Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has fulfilled his pledge to reward the overall best graduating student of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU) with a car and a permanent, pensionable appointment in the Katsina State civil service.
The beneficiary, Sulaiman Sani, who emerged as the university’s Overall Best Graduating Student for the previous academic session, received the car gift during a brief presentation ceremony in Katsina.

Governor Radda had earlier announced the reward during the university’s last convocation ceremony, where he promised to present the outstanding graduate with a Peugeot 206 car as encouragement and motivation for other students to strive for academic excellence.

The car was formally presented to the graduate by the Head of Service of Katsina State, Falalu Bawale, on behalf of the governor.
The presentation ceremony drew emotional reactions from the beneficiary and his parents, who expressed gratitude to the governor for the gesture and prayed for continued success for the administration.

Those who attended the event included the Commissioner for Rural and Social Development, Prof. Abdulhamid Ahmad; the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Hajia Safiyya Yau Yamel; the Registrar of UMYU; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic); Dr Musa; the Director of Works, Muntari Maiwada Dammallam; as well as representatives from the Office of the Head of Service and the university community.
