Katsina, Nigeria — The Managing Director of the Katsina State Water Board, Engr. Tukur Hassan Tingilin, has reportedly died in a fatal car accident, according to social media reports circulating on Friday.
Engr. Tingilin, an experienced engineer who served as the head of the state’s water agency and played a key role in advancing potable water projects across Katsina State, including expanded borehole facilities and partnerships for sustainable water delivery, is said to have lost his life when the vehicle he was travelling in was involved in a deadly crash.
At the time of reporting, official confirmation from Katsina State government authorities or the Water Board has not been issued, and details such as his age at the time of death, the exact location of the accident, and further circumstances are still unverified.
Engr. Tingilin was known for his leadership in water supply initiatives under the current administration and had received traditional honours, including a Walin Kafur title, in recognition of his service to the state.
