APC Elects New State Executives in Katsina

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday conducted its state congresses across most parts of the country, electing new state executive committees to steer the affairs of the party.

In Katsina State, delegates elected new party leaders at the state level through a consensus arrangement.

Information gathered by Katsina Daily News indicates that while some former officials retained their positions, several new entrants emerged, including a new State Chairman and Woman Leader.

Hon. Bashir Gambo Saulawa, Ph.D

Hon. Bashir Gambo Saulawa was elected as State Chairman, while Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa emerged as Deputy Chairman. Hon. Adnan Nahabu was elected Secretary, with Alhaji Umar T. Mustapha from Kankara serving as Assistant Secretary.

Other principal officers include Faruk Tsiga Bakori as Financial Secretary, Hassan Shuaibu Kawuri as Treasurer, Ahmad Hassan Mashi as Organising Secretary, Kabiru Shehu Gani (Mani LGA) as Welfare Secretary, Ali Sani Iliyasu Runka (Safana) as Legal Adviser, Mamman Yaro Batsari as Auditor, Hamza Muhammad Sheme (Faskari) as Youth Leader, Aisha Yahaya (Matazu) as Woman Leader, and Shamsu Sule (Funtua) as Public Relations Officer.

At the zonal level, Alhaji Samaila Garba was elected Zonal Vice Chairman (Funtua Zone), Alhaji Yahaya Idris as Zonal Vice Chairman (Katsina Zone), and Musa Maikudi as Zonal Vice Chairman (Daura Zone).

For zonal youth leadership positions, Alti Yahaya Mati emerged as Youth Leader for Funtua Zone, Aliyu Aliyu Marafa for Daura Zone, and Samaila Usman for Katsina Zone. Zonal Woman Leaders include Saratu Ibrahim Ɗanja (Funtua Zone), Ladidi Umar Gwalele Batagarawa (Katsina Zone), and Rashida Abdulkarim Baure (Daura Zone).

Additional officials elected include Muhammad Salisu Danmusa as Financial Secretary, Tanimu Umar Maigari as Assistant Treasurer, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi (Katsina) as Assistant Organising Secretary, Murtala Shehu as Assistant Youth Leader, Sa’adiya Abdullahi Tama (Bindawa) as Assistant Woman Leader, Nafiu Garba (Dandume) as Assistant Auditor, Balele Umar (Kurfi) as Assistant Legal Adviser, Sulaiman Salisu (Aruwa) as Assistant Public Relations Officer, and Mai Unguwa Iro (Sabuwa) as Assistant Welfare Secretary.

Others are Muntari Sani representing Persons with Disabilities, as well as Ex-Officio members Alhaji Muhammadu Gwanda, Kabiru Salisu (Jibia), and Ibrahim Bala (Funtua).

The congress marks a significant step in the party’s internal democratic process in Katsina State, as the newly elected executives are expected to pilot the affairs of the party ahead of future political activities.
