Abuja, March 28, 2026 — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has submitted a revised timetable for its 2026 congresses and national convention to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a letter addressed to the INEC Chairman and dated March 28, 2026, the party said the adjustments followed a review of its earlier schedule communicated to the commission on February 27.
According to the updated timetable, submission of completed nomination forms will now close on April 5, 2026, while screening of aspirants is scheduled for April 7, with appeals on the screening exercise to be heard on April 8.
The party said its polling unit, ward and local government congresses will hold on April 9, including the election of one delegate per local government for the national convention. Appeals arising from the congresses are slated for April 10.
State congresses will take place on April 11, during which 12 delegates per state will be elected for the national convention, while final appeals will be concluded on April 12.
The ADC fixed its national convention for April 14, 2026.
In the correspondence jointly signed by the party’s National Chairman, David Mark, and National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, the party requested INEC to deploy officials to monitor the activities in line with electoral regulations.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to internal democracy and transparent processes, noting that the convention and congresses are critical steps in strengthening its structure ahead of future elections.
The ADC, which operates from its national secretariat in Wuse II, Abuja, said it remains focused on promoting participatory politics and credible leadership selection processes.
