ACF Reaffirms Commitment to a United North as It Marks 25th Anniversary

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has reiterated its dedication to promoting unity, peace, and development in Northern Nigeria as the organisation marks 25 years since its establishment.

Speakingat a press briefing to commemorate the milestone, Chairman of the ACF Board of Trustees, Bashir Dalhatu, said the Forum has remained consistent in advocating for good governance, security, and economic progress across the region since its founding in 2000.

Dalhatu noted that the ACF has been a strong voice for the rights and interests of Northern Nigerians, adding that its efforts over the past two and a half decades have contributed significantly to peaceful coexistence and national cohesion.

“For 25 years, the Forum has worked tirelessly to address the challenges facing communities in the North,” he said. “We have championed unity, peace, and development while standing firmly for the wellbeing of our people.”

As part of activities marking the anniversary, Dalhatu announced that a series of events will be held to reflect on the Forum’s achievements and chart a course for the future. He explained that the commemorative programmes will bring together leaders, policymakers, and citizens to discuss strategies for advancing the region’s growth and strengthening national stability.

Founded as a socio-cultural organisation, the ACF has played a leading role in advocating for the collective interests of Northern Nigeria’s diverse population. Dalhatu expressed optimism that continued collaboration among stakeholders will accelerate progress and contribute to a more prosperous Nigeria.
