The member representing Bakori–Danja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai (Tafidan Danja), has moved a motion on the floor of the House over the stalled Jare Earth Dam project in Bakori Local Government Area, calling for urgent federal intervention.
Hon. Dabai presented the motion on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, drawing attention to the abandoned dam project, reportedly valued at over ₦10 billion. He urged the Federal Ministry of Water Resources to investigate the reasons behind the delay and ensure that the project is reinstated in the 2025 national budget for completion.

The lawmaker noted that the completion of the dam would significantly boost agricultural activities and improve livelihoods in Bakori–Danja, particularly by enhancing irrigation and supporting youth engagement in farming and related ventures.
Following the presentation, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, referred the matter to the relevant committee for further legislative action. Subsequent developments reportedly saw increased official attention to the site, with inspection visits carried out by concerned authorities.
Stakeholders in the constituency have expressed optimism that the intervention will fast-track the resumption and completion of the project, which is expected to benefit a large number of residents.
The initiative is part of Hon. Dabai’s broader efforts to promote self-reliance and economic empowerment among youths and farmers in Bakori–Danja through sustainable infrastructure and agricultural development projects.
