The member representing Bakori–Danja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai (A.B. Dabai), has distributed food relief materials to cabbage farmers affected by crop losses in Dandanga, Yakaji B Ward of Danja Local Government Area, Katsina State.
The relief distribution, which took place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, followed reports presented by community leaders about the impact of flooding and the resulting destruction of agricultural produce belonging to hundreds of residents in the area.
Following the reports, Hon. Dabai sought emergency assistance from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide relief to the affected farmers and help cushion the economic hardship caused by the loss of their crops.
The assistance secured through NEMA comprised rice, maize, beans, tomatoes, detergent and seasoning, which were distributed to affected members of the community.

Speaking during the distribution, Hon. Dabai said the intervention was intended to provide immediate relief to the farmers following the destruction of their cabbage farms.
He acknowledged that the relief materials could not replace the property and agricultural investments lost by the affected farmers, but said the intervention demonstrated concern for their welfare and was aimed at reducing the hardship caused by the disaster.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Hon. Dabai for responding to their plight and for conveying their concerns to the appropriate authorities. They said the loss of their crops had placed many farmers under severe economic pressure and described the intervention as timely.

The distribution ceremony attracted political leaders, traditional stakeholders and other community representatives from Danja Local Government Area. Among those present were the Chairman of Danja Local Government Area, Hon. Rabo Tambaya Danja (ALGON); the member representing Danja Local Government in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Shamsu Abubakar Dabai; the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Hon. Ishaq Shehu Dabai; Hon. Shehu Dabai; Hon. Abdul Danja (Sarkin Adon Danja); Elder Alhaji Abdullahi Bazanga; and other elders and stakeholders.
Also in attendance were all councillors from Danja Local Government Area, led by the Chairman of the Council of Councillors, Hon. Bello Shitu Kokami.
Hon. Ishaq Shehu Dabai and other stakeholders commended the federal lawmaker for facilitating the relief intervention, while community members offered prayers for his continued success and ability to provide further assistance to constituents in times of need.

The intervention forms part of Hon. Dabai’s broader constituency efforts to respond to humanitarian emergencies and support farmers and vulnerable residents across Bakori–Danja Federal Constituency.
