FUDMA Steps Up Preparations for NUC Accreditation of 15 Programmes

-

The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) has intensified preparations for the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation of 15 academic programmes scheduled for October and November 2026.

Director of Academic Planning and Monitoring, Prof. Daud Mustafa, disclosed this during an interview with the university’s Weekly Bulletin, expressing confidence that all the programmes would secure full accreditation.

He said the University had promptly responded to the NUC’s request for confirmation of readiness and had submitted the list of programmes scheduled for assessment.
According to him, preparations commenced immediately after receiving the Commission’s communication, with the Directorate coordinating activities across faculties and departments.

Prof. Mustafa described accreditation as one of the University’s most important academic exercises, noting that it serves as a measure of quality assurance and compliance with national standards.

He revealed that the Directorate convened a strategic meeting involving deans and heads of departments to review accreditation requirements, timelines and documentation.
Other preparatory activities, he said, include curriculum review, staff verification, facility assessment and ensuring compliance with NUC guidelines.

He commended the University management, particularly the Vice-Chancellor, for providing the financial and administrative support required for the exercise.

The Director expressed optimism that the institution would achieve full accreditation for all the programmes, citing the commitment of staff and the level of preparedness already attained.
