Katsina Secures Investment Partnerships at Paris Summit

-

The Katsina State Government has stepped up efforts to attract foreign investment after securing five business partnerships at the CIAN Africa Investment Summit in Paris.

The state delegation, led by Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe on behalf of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, engaged global investors and development partners in high-level discussions focused on driving sustainable economic growth.

At the summit, the deputy governor presented investment opportunities in key sectors including agriculture, mineral resources, skills development, climate change, and education, describing them as critical areas for job creation and industrial expansion.

He said the newly secured partnerships are targeted at promoting sustainable agriculture, improving food security, developing solid minerals, enhancing vocational training, facilitating technology transfer, and strengthening transportation systems for students, farmers, and public servants.

The delegation also held talks with the Embassy of Finland in France, where both sides agreed to explore cooperation in agri-business, youth and women empowerment, and skills development through modern farming and vocational training initiatives.

“Katsina is positioning itself as an investment-ready destination committed to inclusive growth and sustainable development,” Lawal said.

Other members of the delegation included Economic Adviser Khalil Nur Khalil, Commissioner for Commerce Bishir Yusuf Jirdede, Director-General of the Katsina State Investment Promotion Agency Ibrahim Tukur Jikamshi, and Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Development Management Board Mustapha Shehu.

Officials said the participation at the summit underscores the state’s drive to attract global partnerships and accelerate economic development.
