Governor Radda Reaffirms Katsina as APC Stronghold, Pledges Support for Tinubu as New Executives Emerge

-

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed that the state remains a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the successful conduct of the party’s ward, local government and state congresses.

Governor Radda made the declaration on Tuesday at the State Congress held in Katsina, where delegates from the 361 wards across the 34 local government areas gathered to elect a new State Executive Committee through a consensus arrangement.

The congress produced Hon. Bashir Gambo Saulawa as State Chairman, alongside other members of the executive, in what party leaders described as a peaceful and orderly exercise.

Addressing party faithful, the governor commended the maturity and discipline displayed during the process, noting that the smooth conduct of the congress reflected the unity and organisational strength of the APC in Katsina.

“This process demonstrates that Katsina APC remains united, organised and committed to democratic principles,” Radda said, adding that all elected officials in the state are members of the ruling party.

He congratulated the newly elected executives, describing their emergence as a call to greater responsibility and service. The governor assured them of his full cooperation and pledged that his administration would continue to work closely with party structures to consolidate achievements and strengthen political mobilisation across all levels.

“As Governor and leader of the party in the state, I will make every commitment necessary to support you and ensure your success,” he said.

Radda also reaffirmed the state’s loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging continued support for the Federal Government and its policies aimed at national development and prosperity.

Chairman of the Local Organising Committee and former Deputy Governor, Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi

Earlier, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee and former Deputy Governor, Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, said the congress was conducted in line with the Electoral Act and the APC Constitution, following consultations with relevant committees from the party’s national headquarters.

In his acceptance remarks, the new State Chairman, Hon. Bashir Gambo Saulawa, described his emergence and that of other executive members as a collective mandate to serve the party faithfully. He pledged to run an inclusive, transparent and disciplined administration while promoting unity across the state’s wards and local government areas.

The congress was attended by prominent party stakeholders, including former Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahya Daura, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, former Deputy Governor Sirajo Umar Damari, and businessman Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, among others.

The event marks the culmination of the APC’s internal electoral process in Katsina State and sets the stage for the party’s next phase of political activities.
