-

The ongoing Ramadan feeding and humanitarian intervention coordinated by a Katsina-based WhatsApp community group, spearheaded by Malam ĆŠanjuma Muhammad Katsina, publisher of Katsina Times online newspaper, has recorded further progress, including support for women facing possible imprisonment over unpaid fines.

Organisers disclosed that, in addition to sustained feeding of the less privileged, the intervention team visited a court where some women were at risk of being remanded in prison. Through the committee’s efforts, the women were assisted to avoid being sent to jail.
