Katsina Begins Distribution of 90,000 Bags of Grains to Vulnerable Residents

-

A committee established by Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, to address malnutrition has commenced the distribution of 90,000 bags of grains to vulnerable residents across the state.

The exercise, carried out in collaboration with the Katsina State Community Development Programme, is underway in all three senatorial districts and is aimed at providing relief to households facing food insecurity.

Officials said the distribution has so far been smooth, transparent and well-coordinated. Beneficiaries at various centres expressed gratitude to the government, praising Governor Radda for what they described as a timely intervention to tackle malnutrition.

Chairman of the Committee and head of the Zakat and Waqf Board, Dr. Ahmad Abdullahi Filin-Samji, said he was impressed by the orderly conduct of recipients. He also commended Governor Radda for entrusting the committee with the assignment and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the grains reach those most in need.

Lawal Attahiru Bakori, who is the General Manager, Katsina State Radio, and a member of the committee, signed the statement on behalf of the committee chairman.
