INEC Announces Schedule for Outstanding Phase I Voter Registration Activities

-

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the timetable for outstanding activities under Phase I of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which is set to conclude on 10 December 2025.

In a memo dated 21 November 2025 and signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, INEC informed all Resident Electoral Commissioners across the country that the remaining activities would commence immediately in accordance with the approved timeline.

According to the schedule, the physical (in-person) CVR exercise at state and local government offices—ongoing since 25 August—will run until 10 December 2025. The printing of the preliminary register of voters for public display is slated for 13–14 December.

INEC will then conduct a seven-day display of the register for claims and objections from 15–21 December, during which voters can verify their details or lodge complaints. Complaint handling is scheduled for 21 December, followed by data updates based on those claims on 22 December.

The Commission also announced that Phase II of the CVR will resume on 5 January 2026.

INEC urged all stakeholders to note the timelines and reiterated its commitment to ensuring a credible voter registration process nationwide.
