FUNTUA — Local government cashiers and treasury personnel across Katsina State have undergone a two-week capacity-building workshop aimed at strengthening financial management, accountability and service delivery at the grassroots.
The training, organised by Bala Abdullahi College of Administration, Funtua, in collaboration with the Katsina State Local Government Service Commission, ended on Thursday, September 17, 2026, with a closing ceremony at the college.

Held from September 7 to 17, the workshop focused on improving the professional competence of participants and equipping them with skills to promote greater efficiency and accountability in the management of local government finances.
The organisers said the programme was designed to strengthen the capacity of personnel responsible for financial and treasury operations across Katsina State’s 34 local government areas.
The completion of the training, according to the organisers, represents a further step towards building a more capable, accountable and responsive local government workforce.
The organisers expressed appreciation to the Katsina State Government, particularly Governor Dikko Umar Radda, for providing the opportunity and enabling environment for the capacity-building initiative.
They also commended the Katsina State Local Government Service Commission, Bala Abdullahi College of Administration, facilitators, participants and other stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the programme.

The organisers said the significance of the exercise extended beyond the completion of a training programme, describing it as an investment in the personnel responsible for driving effective grassroots administration.
