Katsina Hajj Delegation Holds Strategic Meetings Ahead of Arafat Rituals

-

The Katsina State Hajj Delegation has intensified preparations for the crucial Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa stages of the 2026 Hajj exercise through a series of strategic meetings held in Makkah with officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and other service providers.

The meetings, which focused on transportation, logistics and pilgrims’ welfare during the Mashair rites, were part of ongoing efforts to ensure smooth coordination for pilgrims from Katsina State and Nigeria at large.

A major pre-Arafat meeting took place at Larooz Al-Sindi Hotel in Makkah on Saturday night, bringing together NAHCON officials, Executive Directors and Executive Secretaries of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, operational personnel and other stakeholders involved in the Hajj exercise.

Discussions centered on final operational arrangements for the movement of pilgrims to Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa, crowd management, transportation coordination and safety measures during the peak period of the pilgrimage.

The Katsina State delegation at the meeting was led by the Amirul Hajj, Barrister Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq, while the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board was represented under the leadership of its Executive Director, Alhaji Yunusa Abdullahi Dankama.

In a related development, officials of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board also met with representatives of Mashariq Adhdhahabiyyah Company in Makkah to discuss transportation and logistical arrangements for conveying Katsina pilgrims to the holy sites.

Officials who attended the engagement included Alhaji Bishir Dangambo, Dr. Nasir Danzariya, Director of Operations, and Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim Bindawa, Assistant Director of Operations.

The meetings reviewed plans aimed at ensuring timely transportation, orderly movement and improved welfare services for pilgrims throughout the Mashair period, widely regarded as the most critical stage of the Hajj exercise.

The Katsina State Hajj Delegation reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with relevant authorities and service providers to guarantee a successful and hitch-free Hajj operation for all pilgrims from the state.
