Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapper and cattle rustler during an operation aimed at tackling violent crimes across the state.
The suspect was apprehended following credible intelligence gathered by security operatives, according to the police authorities.
Police spokesperson DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said the command has intensified efforts to combat kidnapping, cattle rustling and banditry in various parts of Katsina State.
The command noted that the suspect is believed to have been involved in criminal activities affecting communities in the state, adding that investigations are ongoing to uncover possible accomplices and recover additional exhibits linked to the crimes.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Umar Fage, commended the officers involved in the operation and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to restoring peace and security across the state.
The police also appealed to residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and useful information to aid ongoing operations against criminal elements.
