According to Prof. Othman, “a total of 30 academic programmes across various faculties of the University were inspected and assessed, out of which 19 have received full accreditation status, affirming the University’s dedication to academic excellence, quality assurance and community service”.

He said the remaining 11 programmes were granted interim status.

Prof. Othman, who made the disclosure during the 139th Regular Senate Meeting of the University held on Tuesday, 5th May, 2026, commended “the efforts of the former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi and the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Aminu Ado, for their sacrifice, doggedness and faithfulness towards the success of the rigorous NUC accreditation exercise”.

The Vice Chancellor also applauded the commitment and hard work of all the affected Deans, Heads of Department, faculty members, administrative staff and students, “for their resoluteness in ensuring the success of the exercise”.

He specifically singled out the Director of Academic Planning and Monitoring, Prof. Daud Mustafa and the entire staff of his Directorate for their doggedness and support in making the feat possible.
