KATSINA — A new executive council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has been inaugurated in Katsina, with Aminu Garba Dandagoro emerging as chairman.

Dandagoro, a staff of Katsina State Television, was sworn in alongside Auwal Halliru as vice chairman during a ceremony attended by journalists and media professionals across the state.
Other members of the new executive include Abbas Bamalli as secretary, Yunusa Umar as assistant secretary, and Shehu Abubakar as treasurer.
Also sworn in were Hamidu Sabo as financial secretary and Yasir Abubakar as internal auditor.
Reacting to the development, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda congratulated the new leadership, noting that its composition reflects broad representation across television, radio, print, and news agency platforms.
He also commended the outgoing executive led by Tukur DanAli for its service and contributions to the growth of journalism in the state.
The governor urged the new leadership to build on the achievements of their predecessors and continue to uphold professional standards, describing journalism as critical to good governance and public accountability.
Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting journalists and media practitioners in the state.
