CDP Rehabilitates Kauyen-Yamma Clinic, Repairs Water Facility in Batagarawa Ward

-

The Katsina State Community Development Programme (CDP) has rehabilitated a primary healthcare facility in Kauyen-Yamma village and renovated a major water supply facility in Dabaibayawa Ward of Batagarawa Local Government Area.

The projects were executed under the CDP in Batagarawa “B” Ward (Dabaibayawa), where the community committee oversaw the upgrading of the Yamma village clinic. The renovation works included the replacement of damaged glass windows, repairs to cracked walls with new cement plastering, and repainting of the entire hospital building.

In addition, the programme carried out repairs on the town’s main water supply facility to improve access to safe drinking water for residents.

Speaking on the development, the Chairperson of the Community Level Committee in Batagarawa “B”, Hajiya Aisha Mamman, said the committee remains committed to identifying and addressing the most pressing needs of the community using the ₦10 million annual allocation provided to each ward.

She explained that projects undertaken under the scheme are selected based on direct input and complaints from residents, in line with the guidelines of the programme as approved by its leadership under Dr. Kamaluddeen Kabir.

The Community Development Programme was introduced by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda to enable communities across the state to determine and execute priority projects at the grassroots level. Under the initiative, each ward in the state receives ₦10 million annually to carry out urgent, small-scale development projects without bureaucratic delays.

Community leaders in the area said the programme has significantly improved living conditions, particularly in rural communities where residents often face challenges in accessing basic services and communicating their needs to government authorities.

They noted that the initiative has empowered communities to directly decide and implement projects that address their immediate concerns, especially in health and water supply.
