Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has commissioned a newly constructed Mu’assasatul Khairiyya Islamiyya School in Yar Nabayye town, Rimi Local Government Area, built by his elder sister, Dr. Hauwa Radda, former wife of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

The commissioning ceremony, held last Monday, drew top government officials, traditional leaders and business figures from within and outside the state.

The Islamiyya school, constructed under the Hauwa Radda Mu’assatul Khairiyya initiative, comprises modern classrooms and a borehole fitted with an overhead water tank to provide potable water for both pupils and members of the host community.
Represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, Governor Radda commended the donor for her sustained commitment to promoting Islamic education and community development.

He described the project as a significant contribution to the spiritual and moral growth of the community, noting that investment in Islamiyya schools plays a vital role in shaping responsible citizens and reinforcing societal values.
The governor urged residents of Yar Nabayye to make effective use of the facility and ensure its proper maintenance for the benefit of future generations.
He also offered prayers for Dr. Hauwa Radda, asking Allah to reward her abundantly and accept the project as Sadaqatul Jariya for the continuous benefit of the community and the state.

Among dignitaries present were Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Nasir Yahaya Daura; Member representing Rimi, Charanchi and Batagarawa Federal Constituency, Murtala Usman Banye; Deputy Speaker Abduljalal Runka; Director-General of KATDICT, Naufal Ahmed; and Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Shehu Dabai.

The District Head of Rimi, Aminu Nuhu Abdulkadir, alongside other prominent personalities, also graced the occasion.
