Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has announced plans to recruit 2,000 medical personnel and 2,000 teachers as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and education across the state.
The governor made the announcement on Wednesday while overseeing a verification exercise by the committee conducting a comprehensive staff audit in his office. He said over 1,000 medical staff will soon receive employment letters, with additional recruitment aimed at filling existing vacancies in hospitals and primary health centres.
Governor Radda explained that the recruitment of teachers is intended to address manpower gaps resulting from retirements in the education sector, ensuring that every child in Katsina has access to quality schooling.
“This recruitment exercise is part of our broader agenda to enhance public service delivery and create employment opportunities for youths and qualified professionals,” he said.
He urged the verification and recruitment committees to carry out their work with transparency, fairness, and professionalism, while calling on residents to support government efforts.

The recruitment exercises are expected to begin in the coming weeks following the completion of the verification process.
